Can I really use vapor cigarettes anytime, anywhere?
  • Technically, yes.  Vapor cigarettes produce a smokeless water vapor that disappears within seconds.  Currently there are no laws restricting water vapor. 
  • Thus far, US courts have denied the FDA the right to regulated vapor cigarettes, so the choice of when and where to use them is, for the most part, still yours. 
  • [Update: The FDA has just been granted authority to regulate electronic cigarettes as tobacco products.  Taxation, and price increases are sure to follow.  Limitations on where electronic cigarettes may be used is likely to remain a decision of individual state governments.  Please visit our blog for updates.]
  • Note:  Please use common sense when using vapor cigarettes.  Many people are still unaware of the technology and may become confused and/or concerned if they notice someone blowing vapor in Starbucks.  Usually, they're just curious :)

Will vapor cigarettes help me quit smoking?
  • That is a question we, nor any other electric cigarette sellers are legally privileged to answer.  Our advice, don't quit, Evolve. 
  • It is a fact, however, that many smokers have made a permanent switch from traditional tobacco products to vapor cigarettes.  Just ask Katherine Heigl ;)

Why should I use vapor cigarettes instead of traditional tobacco products?
  • It's cheaper!  Savings over traditional cigarettes can be as much as 50%.
  • Vapor cigarettes produce no first, second or third-hand smoke, little to no smell, no residue, and no tar or waste, all the while delivering an experience extremely similar to smoking.
  • It's tobacco smoke, not nicotine, that's considered by most health experts to be the primary cause of smoking related disease.
  • There are over 4,000 ingredients/chemicals in traditional cigarettes, many of them known to cause cancer.
  • People smoke for various reasons.  Some people like the "hand habit" or "ritual" associated with smoking, some of us enjoy the flavor, others may find it hard to give up nicotine.  Whatever one's reason for smoking, preserving the enjoyable aspects, and eliminating the harmful ones, seems like a pretty smart idea to us.

What ingredients are used in vapor cigarette liquid, and are they safe?
A high quality v-liquid typically has 7 ingredients or less:
  • distilled water
  • natural and/or artificial flavoring
  • There has been no conclusive evidence suggesting these ingredients to be unsafe for human consumption.  In fact, the ingredients listed above (with the exception of nicotine) are readily consumed through many of the foods we eat.

What's the difference between a "two-piece" and "three-piece" design?
  • In a three-piece design the atomizer and cartridge are separate components.  The atomizer is designed to last slightly longer while the cartridge is designed to be refilled or replaced. 
  • Three-piece designs often suffer poor performance due to inconsistent contact between the atomizer and liquid inside the cartridge, especially if the cartridge was foil-sealed to "lock in freshness."  --When puncturing the recessed seal of a cartridge with an atomizer, the foil usually interferes with the atomizer contacting the liquid. 
  • Regular atomizers get "gunked up," especially with deep, dark flavored liquids, requiring cleaning and maintenance that is, quite frankly, a pain in the ass.  Yet another reason we prefer atomized cartridges.
  • The two-piece design simply produces fuller, more consistent vapor because the atomizer is embedded in the cartridge and has consistent contact with the liquid. 
  • Even though atomized cartridges are disposable, they may be refilled up to 3 times, so you get the best of both worlds.
  • All atomizers are functional components that may fail.  Having a fresh atomizer within every cartridge greatly increases the reliability and performance of your vapor cigarette. 
  • Conclusion: If using a vapor cigarette while out on the town, i.e. "ballin' outta control," a two-piece design is the more convenient and reliable choice, without question.

What about those e-cigs that claim to "look and feel just like the real thing?"
  • The idea of an electronic cigarette that looks exactly like the real thing may seem appealing at first, as we all want to duplicate the smoking experience as closely as possible, without the undesirable side effects.  In reality, however, the look-a-like models are severely deficient and simply don't deliver that authentic smoke-like experience we crave. 
  • Some vapor cigarettes might look real, but when you get them home the truth is revealed.  It's like buying a delicious piece of apple pie à la mode, then jamming your fork into it to find that it's made of wax! 
  • When it comes down to it, the most satisfying aspect of a vapor cigarette is robust, consistent and flavorful vapor production that closely mimics a smoke-like sensation upon inhale and exhale.  The cigarette sized, automatic designs currently on the market are incapable of delivering such an experience, in spite of their claims. 
  • Traditional tobacco products look the way they do because they're made of leaves and paper.  Think of The VIP as a step toward the future.
